B8 - Journey To The Rock - what can I say. This is another standalone adventure. And as written this one can definitely be finished in a single session. The characters get to choose one of three possible paths - which I personally never like. Why should the character only get the benefit of a portion of the module? So that isn't how I have run the module. I combine all the paths into a single long path and allow the characters to fully experience everything the creators of the module had worked so hard to create. Anyway - whether you run all three paths together as one long path or stick to the original module - it is all good. One I do when I run through this as a single long trail is that I remove the city of Tuma. If I really want to include that it can be located elsewhere and the characters can encounter it later.

I wouldn't say this is one of my favorites - but it is OK. It serves its purpose - an evening of entertainment. I will admit that I don't include the City of Tuma in this module. I've never really developed that city as a separate adventure, but that is what I'd do with it. That is a very interesting concept and I would always consider adding that somewhere. However, I'd want to have more control over the placement of the city in my campaign - making it MUCH more remote. Since I do adhere to Karameikos for my basic adventures - I'd stick it over to the north or west somewhere in the mountains most likely. There are some other encounters that lead to further adventures as outlined in the module that could be fun. Helping the dwarves find the ocean for the boat they are tugging over the desert - that just sounds like sheer role playing gold to me!
